Terms of Use

These are the terms for using Fourfold, an iPhone and Apple Watch app made by Alexander del Valle. They are written to be read, not to be survived. Using Fourfold means you accept them. If you do not, the app is easy to delete, and everything you wrote can be exported first.

The short version

• Fourfold is a habit and planning app. It is not medical, mental health, or professional advice.
• What you write in Fourfold belongs to you. We never claim it, and you can export it at any time.
• Fourfold+ is a subscription. It renews automatically until you cancel, and you cancel in your Apple Account settings, not here.
• Apple handles every payment and every refund. We never see your card.
• Be reasonable with the app: no breaking it open, no reselling it, no using it to harm anyone.

Your licence to use Fourfold

Fourfold is licensed to you, not sold. Because the app is distributed through the App Store, that licence is Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement, and it governs your use of the app. These terms sit alongside it and cover the things specific to Fourfold, such as how the subscription works and what happens to your data. Where the two ever disagree about the licence itself, Apple’s agreement wins.

The licence is personal to you and not transferable, and it covers the devices tied to your Apple Account under Apple’s usual family sharing and device rules.

Fourfold+ and the free trial

Fourfold is a paid app with a free trial. New subscribers get 14 days free, and nothing is charged before the trial ends. After that, Fourfold+ costs $49.99 a year or $9.99 a month, or $99.99 once for lifetime access. Prices are in US dollars and may differ in your local storefront; the price you see in the app at the moment of purchase is the price that applies.

A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours of the period ending, until you cancel. A price change never takes effect without Apple telling you first and, where the rules require it, getting your agreement.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, and you do it through Apple rather than through us: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Fourfold. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, otherwise the next period has already begun. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves you subscribed until the period you have paid for runs out. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Lifetime

Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and nothing renews. It unlocks Fourfold on the Apple Account that bought it, for as long as the app exists and Apple continues to distribute it. If you buy lifetime while subscribed, cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings so the two do not overlap.

Refunds

All purchases go through the App Store, so all refunds do too. We cannot issue one, and we cannot see your payment details. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something about Fourfold went wrong, write to us anyway at hello@getfourfold.com and we will help where we can.

If money is the only thing standing between you and the app, say so. There is a scholarship line in the app, and it is real.

What you make is yours

Your goals, tasks, habits, journal entries, and everything else you put into Fourfold belong to you. We make no claim on any of it. Fourfold has no accounts and no servers that store what you write, so your content stays on your devices and in your own iCloud if you leave sync on. Settings, Data & privacy, Export my data gives you a copy of everything as one file, and that stays available whether or not you are paying. How the app handles data is set out on the privacy page, which is part of these terms.

If a subscription lapses, nothing you built is deleted and nothing is held hostage. The app locks, your data does not.

Using Fourfold fairly

Please do not copy, resell, rent, or redistribute the app, take it apart or try to defeat the purchase check, use it to break the law or to harm anyone, or interfere with how it works for other people. Fourfold, its name, its artwork, its sounds, and its code stay ours.

Fourfold is not advice

Fourfold is a planning and habit tool. It is not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical, mental health, legal, or financial advice. It does not diagnose or treat anything. Scores, streaks, and balance readings are a way of looking at your week, not an assessment of your health. If you are struggling, please talk to a professional rather than an app.

The app will change

Fourfold is actively made, so features get added, improved, and sometimes retired. We may change or discontinue parts of the app, and we will try not to take away anything you rely on without a good reason. If we ever have to stop offering Fourfold altogether, you will be able to export your data before it goes.

If something goes wrong

Fourfold is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do our best to make it correct and reliable, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we are not responsible for lost data, missed reminders, or decisions you make with it. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything connected with Fourfold is limited to what you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, and where that is true, they do not apply to you.

Apple’s role

These terms are between you and Alexander del Valle, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Fourfold or its content, and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any claim about the app, including product liability, a failure to meet a legal requirement, or a consumer protection claim, is our responsibility rather than Apple’s. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Adams County, Colorado, and you and we consent to that venue. Nothing here takes away consumer rights you have where you live that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will update this page and revise the date above. Continuing to use Fourfold after a change means you accept the new version. If a change does not sit right with you, cancel in your Apple Account settings and export your data.
